Honda?? are you on drugs? its an early 50s AJS 500 Model 18

In my defence the "quoted" picture was the only one that worked and the forks, front end and shocks look identical to the Honda CD.

It is obviously wrong however so I shall go self-flagellate myself forthwith.

This pic makes the identification obvious, the fat 'jampot' suspension units were a unique AJS thing.

The wing looks vaguely Riley RME/RMA like but there's not much to go on with the grille missing.

Not a classic in most peoples eyes, but I came across this poor MG Metro near Weston Park in Shropshire.
Looks like some ones pride & joy & looks to have been stolen & torched.
All the work to keep it on the road & judging by the alloys it has been cherished.
I may be wrong & it could have combusted accidentally, but where it was looks unlikely.......
Anybody in the Shropshire/Staffordshire area missing one of these?.

With those wheels it looks like an MG Turbo - maybe it self-combusted. It seems like the bonnet has been forced open, very much what the fire brigade would do in these circumstances (trust me, I know furious). Not the greatest car ever but still a shame.

I reckon hidethelephants is correct - Riley RME.
Several cars of the period had the lip around the edge of the front wings and the faired in headlamp pods (Morris Twelve Series 2 etc).
But the banana shaped sidelight on the wing top say Riley RME to me - although a lot of RME's have different sidelights....

Been past that location a few times since - it has gone. Hopefully saved by someone.

I know France is France and this sort of thing isn't uncommon but this is a field behind a workshop about ten minutes from where I live. There are some interesting Opels I couldn't get close to and, unbelievably, an intact 1950s Limoges trolleybus. Goodness knows how or why it got there. First car I ever drove, a Simca Aronde...
Always thought a Traction-Avant would make a great hotrod with the '34 Ford look and it being low and wide. Adapt an L98 Corvette frame and running gear and you have a blisteringly fast hotrod that handles and stops with 35+mpg..
There's been a few rodded Traction-Avants, but their proportions are a bit 'off', they are too long, wide and flat to pull off the look, plus the sill line makes it look like they are bending in the middle.

This is probably the best effort I've seen.

That is...erm...a bit special.
If you've ever seen some of the side streets in Japan then you'd understand the need for the them!
They also have these on some of the smaller islands in Hong Kong which don't have any cars on.

When I read that and before I clicked this:

Traction Avant
I thought I was about to go insane with want, but actually no. I'd prefer an original Light 15 tbh.

Found this old boy languishing in a hillside village in Paxos last year.

Who says the 911 shape has not evolved over the years!

They are really basic so even a basic mechanic could cope!

If not, if you can, put me in touch with the owner, I'd take it on biggrin
