Taken 12 months ago, I fear the Excel (G388 KEX) may now have been scrapped.

Could be. That Lotus still looks nice though.

I'm also quite concerned to see a pallet lent up against what looks like a reasonable bay window camper

Hardly "a classic" but an S500 - some well heeled CEO would have been wafting about in that a decade ago. Terrible wheels, saggy suspension, bad tints, what an ignominious end.

How odd - the Merc's MOT expired: 01 February 2014

And it's sorn.

But looking at the MOT history, the last MOT was a pass and it seems to have just been left after it expired..

Nothing odd about it at all, they are sh*te!

I've got one, '00 W reg and only covered 51,000 miles.

It sat for the last 12 months with a major electrical failure and I refused to pay Mercedes prices to fix it.

It had been in the same place for so long it appeared on Google maps! eek

Turned out there was a 5 minute bodge to get it running again, so it is alive, but still has one faulty control unit.

The more I read about Mercedes on various forums, the more I can't understand how they keep their name as a so called prestige make!

It looks to me to be a later series 3 car that did have quite a big grille on the front and really big indicators. The square vent underneath gives it away.

Some might argue the later cars are not as pretty as the earlier ones.
