And another....

Saw this one in France a couple of summers ago in one of those garages that look like it was abandoned in 1977 only for it to be fully operational the next day and all the cars driven regularly. The Audi I fear, has breathed its last.

If it wasn't rusty, it wouldn't take much to get that back on the road!

A good half hour with a jet wash and you wouldn't recognise it. wink

Years ago I was given a Discovery in much the same state, but it had also stood under a tree for a long time and as a result had added foliage. It started easily when I picked it up and I drove it straight to the nearest garage to put some fuel in and buy two tokens for the jet wash. As I filled up I noticed I had an audience in the kiosk who were having a hilarious time. When I went in to pay one of them asked, "Is it camouflaged?"

If it was a Disco, you should have just cleaned the windows.

What about this, not exactly a classic, but looking a bit unloved!

I think the Audi Coupe just about scrapes in as a modern classic – not sure about that red thing. Or is it some super-rare, super-coll retro hatch that I've missed?

It's a Kia Pride, isn't it? Don't see it qualifying as a classic any time soon smile

Badged as a Ford in some markets.

I believe these were originally a Mazda 121 (?).

When Kia have achieved domination in the UK car market, the humble Pride may well become a neo classic. "The turd that started it all".

Something like, "In the beginning was the turd"? I think that's got wings.

Indeed. How we laughed at the Pride and the original Rio. Not laughing quite so much now!

That reminded of a Bob Monkhouse joke:

"They all laughed when I said I was going to be a comedian. They're not laughing now."

I did a press road test of the Pride in about 1990. I said then it was better made than any other Far East motor except a Honda. Seems a while ago now...

No, not laughing, but having looked at the new Optima 4, and find that not only does it resemble a Jag, the price is similar now......

They're pretty pricey, trading on the 7 year warranty and public ignorance.

Surbiton - this morning. A Karcher and some T-Cut should sort it out smile

A saw a SAAB 9000 being driven out of the local church car park that looked pretty much just like that! eek

(Similar shade of blue too! - The windows were cleaner though, luckily enough!)

This was parked on the road next to the flat I'm about to move into for years, seems to have gone recently though - whenever I passed it sadly looked beyond saving given the evident rust and current values

At least the MR2 owner's better at parking than the one with the Transit!

You must be joking! - That parking is some of the best you'll ever see from a Transit driver!

(It cant be making a delivery, otherwise it would be stopped slap bang in the middle of the road with the "Stop where you like" lights flashing on all four corners!)
