That car cover is really doing a good job....not.
Yet the hubcaps are pristine! Wonder what the story is. You can understand why someone may stash away something interesting to one day bring back to life, but a bog standard, 4 door, cloth upholstered, steel wheeled E30? Strange...

I had one from new in 1985. Worst car I ever owned.

And yet mine was the reverse. Bought it at 76k at about two years old, ran it every day until the second clutch went at 272k. Replaced two wheel bearings, the other two are still original. Never replaced a ball joint or a track rod end, regularly did rear calipers but mainly because the "new" ones weren't all that good. Did front wishbone bushes twice, but never touched the rears. Still got it, it's the next project.- snipped more about Audi coupe -
Mine was a 2.2i GT. Yes it was fast and economical, but only because it was ultra light. sounded nice with a 'no box', straight pipe exhaust though. That's what sold it to the next guy. I lived in fear of it coming back for ages.

At the time, when there were engine maladies, a popular conversion was to fit the V4 engine from the Corsair.
Replacing an engine smoother than Brian Ferry in a velvet smoking jacket with one that outvibrates a tumbledrier filled with breezeblocks was never going to be anything other than an act of poverty or desperation.Edited by hidetheelephants on Wednesday 4th May 17:55
