At the time, when there were engine maladies, a popular conversion was to fit the V4 engine from the Corsair.
Replacing an engine smoother than Brian Ferry in a a velvet smoking jacket with one that outvibrates a tumbledrier filled with breezeblocks was never going to be anything other than an act of poverty or desperation.
Oh, you do exaggerate. They were no more than half breeze blocks.

I had a 2000 GT V4 Capri once and I thought it was alright really and quite fast. I havent driven an NSU, but I have driven a Mazda RX8 and I wasnt impressed with the rotary engine, it had to be screwed all the time to extract any power, at low revs it was gutless.

What a shame, a car like that defo needs saving. Do you know if the dealer is selling it or keeping it? and could you provide any details of said dealer if possible please?

Particularly enjoying the bonnet mascot thing and the fact the front tyres are wider than the rears. hehe

I'm quite pleased, but they do need a bit of work!

The first one, a 735i, started and ran, but then leaked fuel and cut out, so had to be winched on to the trailer.

The second one, a 740i cool

started and ran, managing to drive out of the garage, but then cut out and won't re start rolleyes

A bit of T cut and it'll be alright!

X plate means facelift doesnt it? They are worth surprisingly little so 'saving' one its not financially viable sadly. You can pick a decent one up for £2500...

Working in an amazing house and these sre in the neighbours garden! Surely some of the bits on the ambulance are worth something - lights, trims etc? Hard to tell without being very nosey but appears to have some hits in the back too

Bedford CF - my Dad worked on these as a mechanic at Kent Ambulance Service in the 80s. Unusual to see them with lights still attached, they were usually stripped out before going to auction and generally ending up as very poor camper vans!
