On my lunchtime wander I've seen this car/shell a few times. They appear to have cleared away some of the weeds so I could actually see it. Still have no idea what it is I'd previously assumed it was a Reliant Scimitar but now I can see it isn't. Anyone able to id it?

It's a clan
It's a McCoy. In the 80s while the original Clan bods wrangled with a pirate outfit in Ireland who "reintroduced" the Clan with pop up headlights along came another pirate called the McCoy. Unfortunately it was pish ( unlike the Irish one which was really rather smart) and sported mini underpinnings, a jacked up ride height and round headlights like the photo shows.
By coincidence I was at a hillclimb in Brittany today and saw this request taped to one of the cars entered:

Pics from this yard have appeared here before and in the classic mags.

But as I was passing I took 3 more to show how little changes here since my first visit either 8 or 10 years ago.

I don't remember the Alfa 33 being there last time and also the Maserati Biturbo seen before for years may have gone but little else has changed.
In Tuscany BTW.
Wow a Matra Rancho, used to have a corgi one of these as a kid and thought it was awesome...no idea why though

I know of an original Clan Crusader that has been off the road for 30 years if anyone is interested?

Had minor front end bump repaired and engine/box are in a different garage.

I bid on it but it wasn't enough... whistle

Spotted this last week in Southampton, even a mouldy 1.3Gl 4 door must be worth £15k+ on ebay...

Oliver.
A tidy 4-door Mk2 is worth only mid-thousands.

Mid-thousands sounds an awful lot to me.

It is, but it's not £15 thousands, more like £5-6k.

I wasn't being entirely serious.

Yes. First time I have been, enjoyed seeing the French hill scene. Need to work out what the regs are to decide if I should try to get an entry for next year.

Ok you can always find a cheapie but there are a few out there up for that kind of money. My point was that it's a crime to let one die when in top condition they could be worth a decent amount (as well as being a lovely car).
