My apologies for para-phrasing you but this is ultimately the truth for most old cars..... as I well know now smile

It's made the whole Brexit thing look like a bit of playful hairpulling. One more picture of this and I'm going to come round there and shove it up my own arse. Where I can have a proper look at it.
Genuinely made me laugh laugh

I'm nowhere near clever/bored/twisted enough to have posted pics of the BX to provoke a negative reaction. I simply wanted to share pics of what I consider a classic car with others who may be interested in seeing it.

The car is in Edwalton, Nottingham. I'd suggest dusting off the cobwebs prior to shoving it anywhere untoward...
Perhaps Strela needs to start using [sarcasm][/sarcasm] tags wink

Not intentionally antigonising folk but here's another pic of the BX.

I popped round to see if the owners had any plans to sell the car on behalf of a fellow PH'er. They weren't in...

Can has a factory sunroof and cloth interior (not sure why but I'd expected leather). Their was also a spare bonnet on the back seat. At a glance, the top side of the car looks to be in great shape. As has been suggested on previous pages, it's likely underneath that trouble lurks...

Thanks. Appreciate you taking the time to do that.

I think I might be out though. The MOT history of corrosion and wiring problems scare me off.

If you do that there will be copious weeping and wailing on here.

I know it's bloody ridiculous, classics left to die........good riddance. I once slated the BX on here as I had one once and thought it was a st car, quickly sold it on. I got flamed by several for daring to say it was st. Well it's still a st car and this one truly deserves to be crushed. Only about a mile from me so might go out with some matches.......... Only joking before some tosser reports me to the police

Life would be pretty dull if we all liked the same things; how about everyone steps back from this one and sticks to the topic?

Oh, okay, if I must.

Delivering a car some weeks ago I caught sight of a mouldering truck and wondered if the assembled classic aficionados here would allow me to post a commercial vehicle in a car forum. Today, when I went back to take a closer look I found there were cars as well. After removing a couple of duplicates, this is most of the photos I took. The site is within the catchment area of one of the most tightly guarded establishments in the world and I expected men with machine guns to arrive in unmarked Land Rovers and invite me explain what the bleedin' 'ell I thought I was doing, but no one turned a hair.

I cannot remember what the options were regarding leather but they all seemed to have sunroofs. I had one of the first UK GTi's which did not have a sunroof but that was rare - every other one I saw had one.

Built for Ford by Abbotts of Farnham. Abbotts were run at the time by Gordon Sutherland, son of shipping magnate Sir Arthur Sutherland. Gordon Sutherland co-owned Aston Martin with Bert Bertelli, bought Bertelli out before the Second War and finally sold AM to David Brown just after the war. This is a clumsy précis of what happened, I think it was Sir Arthur's money but you get the picture.

Lots of interesting and very dilapidated commercials, Mickey Mouse Foden in particular.

Now we know where Q's failed projects end up.
For example, that half Consul must have been a try out for Bond's half-car in "From a View to a Kill".

Nothing wrong with thinking it's a st car or even being right about it. That doesn't mean it's not a classic though - in some ways it's actually a pre-requisite!

Most cars we call classics these days were/were called st in their day.

If that's a genuine Crayford Corsair convertible, it doesn't say much for their engineering when they cut the roof off!

Leather would have been an option, but it's pretty rare. I've had it in my 16v model, but it's not much fun. Not as much support and makes a tinny interior feel even more tinny!
Around half the hatch models on the market had an electric sunroof. GTi without a sunroof is indeed pretty rare.

Shame some of those commercial vehicles were never restored, too far gone now I think..
Could have been converted into a car hauler for some very wealthy classic car enthusiast

Crumblier wagons than those have been restored; the wood and alloy coachbuilt cabs are often created from scratch as they(as can be seen) collapse quite readily.
