Hi The colour is Jaguar Pastel Blue Metalic. These metalic colours were discontinued for a while ( i think it was 2 years) when Mr Lyons moved production from Foleshill to Browns Lane in January 1951. This XK120 was built on 20 December 1950.

Great car! Mine is a close relative, also December 1950 (660403), though mine is on wires and I'm not sure how much of it is original. The chassis is, but the engine is from a 3.4 "S" type and the gearbox is a five speed, fitted by me after the old Moss box shed some teeth. It also has no early history so far - all I know is that it was new in Bradford and was originally metallic bronze, two tone interior and biscuit hood, which must have looked pretty slick in grim austerity days. Anyhow, good luck with the car.
Sadly, this photo of November/December 1950 builds just misses the two cars. Screenshot from Jaguar Heritage computer.

I assume she'll be here for the Le Mans Classic? But which year is the question...........

This year it is the turn of the E-type I believe.

Took the old girl out today on what seems like the first day of Spring. Started first time and drove beautifully.

You must make sure yours is ready for Le Mans Classic!

Not much to report as the cold weather has been against us.

Fuel Tank now in place and the car has now moved into its bigger workshop to allow better access all around it.

More soon.

Not much to report but some small things have been done with a promise of lots more in the next few days.

Headlights going in...

Following an issue in the XK 150 where, on the way back from Le Mans Classic, a 60 year old brass float sunk .It was thought a good idea to fit these to the entire fleet...

Yes Tony. You know, they are more effective when fitted. In a jiffy bag in the boot just doesn't seem to work as well!

I'm surprised. I have brass because I had heard that the plastic went brittle and cracked. Was I misinformed, I ask myself?

ETA Looking for an old wax thermostat Dave. I have just fitted my last spare and want one for in reserve. Would your Dad know where?

Fantastic !! but the number plate style spoils it, should have raised numbers/letters,
Tony would know whats right for the car, of course it all boils down to personal choice, but just think the raised Ace digits on a plain black plate (no border) would look fab.
