I was hoping to see the Daimler SP250 go through but with 300 lots it'll be early evening before it does. I'll carry a rolled-up copy of the Times. Or maybe not. We need a subtle means of identifying a fellow PHer.

Xpuffin is easy to spot. He'll be buying all the british leyland crap. Or a barn find maserati.

It's be a long day, was thinking about going but it's a fair distance.

35-40 by their reckoning. Seems like longer though. It's a good day out but tiring.

That seems about right on price...but by God do I dislike these bullst auctioneering phrases, worse than bloody estate agents.

"The car does shows some desirable patina, but is solid throughout..."
I thought on the. Cheap side. If it's had a recent rebuild ( 10k ago could be 10 years) and resprayed ( cosmetic or bare metal) and the "patina" isn't rusty kidney bowls could be very good price

I really fancied that little Healy Sprite. Seemed a bargain given a new shell and all. Anyone know how much it went for?

Put it down to dememntia. Thought it was unday today. We have the 24 hour bike race here, police everywhere, and I'm not budging so I might well bid. Be a change from an XKSS.

Sounds like the Anglia results will be up in full around the end of this week but their initial report sounds as if it was all fairly healthy:

"A well-attended sale that resulted in 183 of the 244 entries being sold on the day and a further 5 being sold on Monday. With outstanding provisional offers still to be finalised, it is expected that 80% will be reached by the end of the week. Not surprisingly, in excess of 12% of the sales were to foreign bidders. Noteable results include the Ford Zephyr Zodiac at £18,900, Alfa Romeo Zagata £39,900, the 2008 Jaguar XK R-S 4.2 £24,665, the 1989 Mercedes-Benz 500SL R107 LHD £21,000 and the 1993 Mercedes-Benz W124 E36 Estate LHD for £19,425."

Most prices for things that sold are up now. I'm not seeing any collapse in values there.

Some unfathomable variations - though perhaps down to condition.
Great price for the Frogeye and modern MG TF, cheap for a VW bus (which im looking at so very glad).

Monster anglia auctions tomorrow.
For me just twenty miles away, though just had a new edition to the family on yesterday so probably busy!
Pity, i will remain an auction virgin.

Strangely the contents of this particular auction don't hit the sweet spot; except for the ratty BP sign which I'd love to put on the wall of the house.

I have great love for the Alvis TF21, lot 152. Not going though, too much on.
