Ordinary Cars That Have Disappeared Off The Radar
Discussion
I followed an Austin Ambassador through Bruton the other day - it was even in the requisite Hearing Aid Beige.
Now I think of it, my parents' and grandparents' car history reads like a Who's Who of vanished motoring ordinariness:
Hillman Imp - pale blue
Sunbeam Rapier - metallic blue
Hillman Minx - pale green
Hillman Hunter - dark red
Hillman Hunter Estate - white
Fiat 132 - burgundy
Vauxhall Chevette - pale blue
Chrysler Horizon - blue
Chrysler Alpine - early one, with the reverse-slope headlights, in bright orange.
Bedford CF Camper - white
Datsun 180 Estate - mustard yellow
Datsun 280 Saloon - red
Peugeot 305 Estate - red
Rover 216 - blue
Vauxhall Cavalier Mk 3 - white
Plus a Triumph 2500 and a Rover P4 that have a bit more of a following.

These used to be everywhere, can't remember the last time I saw one on the road. From memory they had very nice velour Recaros
My mother had one of those new, back in the day, after writing her Cavalier SportsHatch off. Black, A920XHL.dead boring but £1k for a rarity thats a quite handy second car, not seen for donkey's years.

How about the Volvo 343? My mother had one in a rather dull mustard/yellow.I think I'm correct in saying that the 343 was Volvo's first attempt to get into the small car market and was the output from their acquisition of Daf.
I think it was preceded by the Volvo 66 as that was already a Daf production vehicle before the takeover, although I may be wrong on the dates:as fast in forward, as reverse
