Ordinary Cars That Have Disappeared Off The Radar

My dad had a couple of Maxis, massive inside and considerably quieter than the 1100s he had. I don't think either gave him much trouble, although he never had a cable-gearchange model. Mind you, he was raised on a farm and if you could win a battle with a cold Fordson N gearbox, anything else was a doddle.
Only 96 left on the road and 76 SORN'd according to https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/family/austin_maxi

Add Leyland Cars Maxi and Austin Morris Maxi and you start to get a few hundred. This very morning I happened to arrive behind a '55' reg Nissan Primera Estate - the swoopy styled thing that seemed to have disappeared almost as soon as it was launched (presumably cut from the range as soon as the Qashqui took off).
A challenging shape, but probably a good car underneath (if the original was anything to go by). Like this -
It's still five years younger than the V70 I was in, however.

It was on the market for seven years - 2001-08...Most Primeras seem to have disappeared entirely. That or they just don't register to look at.
Similar to most Renault Lagunas. I don't know whether they're actually rare now or I just never notice them at all.
I had a new VW Sharan as a courtesy car the other day, forgot they existed. See old ones everywhere, I even notice Galaxy/S-max's. Never new Sharans. Totally assumed they were just Tourans, including the one I drove. Didn't think until I saw the badge on the back.

Vanden Plas Princess with the 4 litre RR engine. Total ring tool weapon sleeper (am I doing this right, Barry?)
Can't have been that many made. A friend of mine has a mostly original Wolseley 6/110 which he's had for many years. You don't see many Oxfords or Cambridges really, even at shows.

I had a Santana too with the 2.2 liter 5-cylinder 115BHP. But mine was a 1985 model, in 1984 they re-named it to Passat Stufenheck
(Limousine in english ).
Metalic gold, carat equipment level, auto box, velour seats etc. 1980's wafting
We drove down to Bavaria on holiday in it three years on the trot, I drove it over all the alpine passes I could find in Austria and Switzerland, good times.
Used to like a drink though: around town in winter I was getting under 20mpg
I completely forgot that I had a Santana back in the 90s ,black manual with grey cloth . A great car but got killed by my neighbours roof landing on it in a storm .(Limousine in english ).

Oh I had that Citroen. The brakes were an on/off switch.
I learnt very quickly that you stroke the footbrake on a Citroën, never stamp on it.... A toe is sufficient. They're only an on-off switch if you have terrible motor control in your foot.
