Sadly a friend, and a jolly decent kindly fellow, recently passed on. His car collection is to be sold at auction by Bonhams.
Star of collection is his Mercedes-Benz Gullwing Classic No 37. Also his Bentley 3lt TT replica, 1960 Maserati 3500GT,
Aston Martin V8 Volante, 1923 RR 20hp, Ford Escort cosworth, 1924 La Buire 12A, 1920 Bean, 1919 Singer Ten, and a 1880 horse drawn hearse.
Bonhams auction at Goodwood March 20th

The dear chap has other cars and steam engines in his collection but it appears it is those listed going under the hammer.

The 20hp the Windovers one? Very nice, I fancy something like that.

Interestingly I have just my invite to the auction with the details of the cars, some of which have some great pictures.

The gullwing looks particularly nice and has an estimate of £800k/£1m

Kingsley was a genuine classic and vintage car enthusiast,, Recalling four years ago we wandered through his garages it struck me that he owned a lovely Ford Anglia 105E. This car seemed somehow out of place amongst some of his other cars, It transpired that the Anglia was his daughters chosen wedding car! Every car had a very special and personal attachment to Kingsley.
The Mercedes was parked up alongside with its battery conditioner attached, as were all of Kingsley's cars, turn key and go, try it for size he said. Off with my shoes, don't bother ,just get in, but I just had to respect Kingsley' and his car and climb in over the massive sill, settled into the drivers seat, magic!! ' what do you think' I think I'm in heaven! Sadly I was unable to have a drive on that day. A car in his ownership for decades, what a car it is.

Aside from the collection, and Bonham's are auctioning only part of a fantastic collection, Kingsley was a true Gentleman, first and foremost. I will miss him as will so many other enthusiasts.

20hp is one of the vintage cars on my bucket list, wonderful vintage appeal no matter the coach builder.
