They are getting that way. You don't actually use all that much from a 2cv so you could even build a pembleton without having to buy a donor, just bits. Copper water take are equally difficult to get hold of cheaply for the nose!

Previous owners can cause you problems but what about when the manufacturer can't even get the quality right....take a look at the below and give me your considered opinion of the chassis, in particular the front wishbones and the bit of angle iron tacked on to att the top ball joint! I've seen bodges on farm tractors with more finesse.
