That looks like a shot straight out of a film called Villain, featured Richard Burton as a very nasty gangland boss http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_127541-Rover-35-Litre...Car's first shakedown run a week ago. On rolling road to optimise fuelling next week then a "proper" track outing planned for not long after that.
Car handled beautifully "out of the box" - like a dirty great go-kart :-) Currently working on fixing a recalcitrant gear change, optimising fuelling and tweaking suspension settings. Ears still ringing and smile has yet to fade ....
Getting there ....
Car on track marking 50 years since the original first broke cover outside Jaguar's Competition Department

Sorry to derail the thread but I have always wondered this: Where do I go to do this sort of thing and what is it called? I know this is a photo from the Berwick classic, but is it a rally or a trial or what? Also how do they work and how competitive are they? I would be really interested in doing something like this but to be honest I'm not really sure what they are/how they work. My car is very ropey and I have never driven anywhere but a public road, can anyone recommend anything?
I've had a look but all I can find are events that seem to be mostly on public roads for immaculate cars, either that or banger rallies, maybe me and my MG would fit in better there
