Perhaps a whisker too modern for this thread and was obviously a reunion rather than during production

And obviously not outside their own factory, which was 2-3 miles away.

That is the only photo I have seen online of a 604 with the four headlamp wipers specified! I remember seeing one in a dealership in the late 1970s and being very impressed (my dad was a big Peugeot man) - but have never seen photo of one with them despite looking and had begun to wonder whether I had imagined it! Thanks for posting that.

Inside the factory, but Nash Healey production, I guess it's at the Cape, Warwick.

Anyone recognise the building without cheating. Clue: It later became quite famous for many years as home to a marque still going.
You know it gives the answer to that across the bottom of the photo, if you screw your eyes up?
That's why I said 'without cheating!' wink

Different angle pic, showing other makes in window, Belsize, GN, Morris etc.

As it happens, that building is now owned by a PHer smile

This is outside biggrin

My Sunbeam-Lotus parked in front of Des's 309GTi company car when I paid a visit to see Des back in Nov 1989.

Wow, I used to visit the office a little further along, when I used to collect cars for my old man as he was a Peugeot dealer, they used to store cars in the old factory buildings, used to love going there as the history at Humber, Aldermoor and the like, i found it fascinating.

The topic was supposed to be carS (plural) in front of the factory. Bending the definition a little, here's a photo of Alejandro DeTomaso with his Pantera in front of the Ford Headquarters

Ford imported the DeTomaso Pantera into the US between 1971 and 1974...

Bending the rules a little more to show cars inside the factory, here are two I find fascinating. The DeTomaso assembly line in the early 70's

Yes, not complete cars, but painted bodies.
What genius designed a production line that meant that bodies, even painted bodies, got stockpiled in the open air?
I know, BL.
Sad, isn't it?

Great photo!

Is that Speke, or Coventry? I forget where the TR7 was made.
Must be Coventry, given there are Spitfires and a few 2000/2500 shells in the background?

As for being stockpiled due to the production line procedures or problems associated with industrial action (it was the 70's) or even shells rejected on the line and taken off to be scrapped...?

They rejected some! How bad would they have to be?

Also built in Solihull (at the end). From memory you can tell where they are made by their badge/sticker on the front

With respect to all, the first photograph is almost certainly not the Humber Road Competitions dept. More likely the latter Aldermoor Lane location. This being the location of Auto Machinery where previously fasteners were manufactured. Yes, we made our own fixings.
Opposite the doors in the Humber Road location was the 51 Shop - and that doesn't look like the 51 Shop.
You may have guessed an association!
I am an ex Rootes (well Humber actually) apprentice. Predating that photo by some years I may add.
Thank you for the memory.

Oh, I remember Des without grey hair!
