Link to a thread on the HAMB about a guy that has recently bought an incredible time warp original condition 1940 Ford, that still has it unused original spare wheel with Ford script tyre in the boot along with many other original parts.....only 33k miles as well. Can't be many cars left anywhere this old, and this original. Great background story as well.

What a beautiful car! Thank you for sharing. Glad the new owner is keeping it as it is and not "restoring" it.

Wow, Waltham speedo. I have an American Waltham pocket watch from 1898 ish.. No idea they also made instruments for cars.

Wow, what a nostalgic flashback for me. My Uncle Stan was a South African who signed up to the RAF during the war and joined the City of Glasgow squadron as a Spitfire pilot. He must have been bloody good because he survived! While posted here he met and married my aunt and eventually ended up as the station master in Glasgow Central. I remember this well as a child in the '50s getting to stand on the footplate of huge steam locos in the station.

He had a beautiful full hunter Waltham pocket watch that he used to time the trains in and out of the station. When he died he left it to me and it was my most cherished possession. It kept perfect time. I left it with a Glasgow auction house to have it valued for insurance and the idiots lost it!! I was utterly outraged and to this day simply don't believe them. I think it was sold under the counter if you follow my meaning.

Sometimes life really is a bh.
