I'm liking the Bounce idea....

I keep a radio on in the garage at all times, keeps the Squirrels at bay....not seen evidence of mice in there either, and we are right next to fields....they've had most of the bonnet insulation from my Jag, which lives outside !

Ring of fire. Get some mouse poison blocks and circle the car with them.

I've given up trying to keep them out of the garages so I invite them in for dinner now. They just love the rat poison I use and the problem is solved. They'd eaten through cabling and made their nest in the cavity but last year not one was to be seen. I still put the bait down just in case though.

Not so sure about rat/mouse poison.
Recently used a car that had been standing outside workshops for four months this summer.
The workshops have lots of rodent poison boxes, because they are next to stables.
Under the bonnet needed power washing to remove the grain, rodent droppings ... and blue poison pellets.

Off topic, but few people know that when Lynx was formed it had nothing to do with Jaguar but the Riley Lynx!

Here's one not so well known as to what the marque was named after.
Another fast cat like animal.

Now you know!

Buy a livestock electric fencer, red wire to the car metalwork and earth stake nearby or just laid on the concrete floor.
If you forget about it the mice are not the only ones for a shock!

I don't seem to have a problem with mice, as the rats seem to keep them away irked

Any suggestions on what traps you've had success with, and/or what poisons?

I've used these for years with Tomcat2 blocks:
http://www.pestcontroldirect.co.uk/acatalog/Rat_Ba...
Place along a wall or in a corner, rodents tend to follow edges.
I keep them down all year. Not much bait taken in the warmer months but come autumn I need to check them every few days. Pretty safe for other wildlife and pets too as the blocks are threaded onto a steel rod so have to be eaten in situ.
