To be fair though, the old man has never been into cars as anything other than a means to get from A to B. The first motor I remember him having was a sit up and beg Ford Pop, over half a century ago, and with the Corsa he's got now it took him a year to discover it had heated seats and steering wheel!
Can't complain too much though, I learnt to drive in his L-reg Mk1 Escort, trouble is, it was an 1100L, not anything with horses (plural) under the bonnet
