Is the TPM system some sort of optional extra on a Cayman (987.2)?

Looking at the manual I should be able to get a reading through the on-board computer. After a 60mile journey yesterday I tried to check it (flat ground, stationary) but the manual shows TPM should be between 'Oil' and 'Set' on the computer but cannot see it there.

The manual does state: 'the following options are available depending on vehicle equipment' so thinking it is not part of the car

It's certainly an option on the 981 and i can't imagine that it was offered for free on a previous model somehow! Not with the way Porsche options tend to work, sorry that should be cost.

Tyre pressure monitoring was made EU law on November 1st 2012 for all new vehicles. So in theory, it should not be an optional extra after that date. I'd expect it was a standard feature on all 981's, and standard or optional extra on the 987.2 depending on Month/Year of manufacture.

The implementation of that EU Directive on TPM was only implementated at a later date, not 2012. Also the requirement of the EU Directive is only for a Low Tyre Pressure Warning , not an actual pressure display. My Early 2013 Cayenne does not have it, yet my 2010 RS did.

My June 2015 981 Cayman has TPM system as standard. Was around the time that Porsche also introduced the 3 year warranty scheme.
