His name Gorden rather than Gordon was due to a typo early in his career. I too thought he'd bid his farewells some time back.

I was just pissing by the forum when I spotted this. Sad news.

IIRC it was the Burns Day/Night Storm of 1990 - a bit of advertising hoarding blew off and went straight through his windscreen.

Damn. I really used to enjoy "Allo Allo" - sat there with Mum giggling even though I didn't get all the jokes, but she would cry with laughter.
