Modern 6 cyl Jag motor would be just as good and much easier to fit, the V12 is a bit OTT in that particular body IMOsmile

I agree with you regarding keeping the classic looking original externally, after fitting a modern EFI motor the car becomes a real wolf in sheep's clothingsmile

I like the idea of keeping the engine as the same manufacturer of the vehicle.

VW base vehicle or Chevrolet and a VW or Chevrolet donor engine.

I really like thos classic BMW's with modern BMW 6's and V8's squeezed in. Love it.

I fitted plenty of EFI pintos into old RWD fords back in the noughtys, pepped em up a bit and gave a 50% increase in MPG win, win IMHO, after that i moved onto fitting for 8V twincams into RWD fords, made them even better smile i know a chap in essex who made a living fitting 24V granada engines into anything RWD for well over a decade, most of them were historic tax (free) never an issue with the powers that be driving

Who wants carbs when you can have EFI?
Lotus Excel neatly finished its Lexus V8 conversion.
GMC '55 van with big block / 700R4
Lotus Europa about to get its Zetec.
Just sold the Capri with the small block.

Me smile

My stroker 383 will look like this, with 3 x 'big' 97's smile

But, only because I can't really afford the £5-6k extra it would cost to make it look like this.......frown

A couple of four barrels? Why not try this:-

Chevy small block putting out about 700 bhp. Oh, and those are - wait for it - 58mm twin choke webers, four of them, with special manifolds, fuelling it.

Apparently just a small matter of $50,000 for the lot.

Who wants a manual box when you can have flappy paddles?
Who wants springs and shocks when you can have driving modes buttons?
Who wants toggle switches when you can have voice control?
Who wants to open the bonnet and see an engine when you could have a nice clean plastic cover?
Who wants the smell of petrol, leather and old-car-ness when you can have particle filters?
Who wants to get lost and end up somewhere unexpected following a map when you could have sat nav?
Who wants a classic car when you can travel much more comfortably, quickly, efficiently and cost effectively?

Me!

We put an Alfa 3.0 24V V6 in a 1972 Spider in work. It's still tax exempt.
