£63K resto, ex LHD.
I’ve got a barely used original with Dove Grey inserts in the garage, both of my road cars came black-painted irked
I honestly thought the Mk2 Ronals were all black, as that was all I ever saw in the 80’s.

Unless they had been repainted the cars body colour, which was a popular trend when polishing them up.

For reference, the last brochure for the RS2000, showing the wheels in factory silver / grey.

Look better black. They didn't get everything right.

That is absolutely horrible.

Less is more with old stuff like this.
See also the 'Escort for the purists' thread.

Check out the o/s upper door hinge pin, once you have got past the body colour dashboard...
Some quality workmanship right there - craftsmen were involved.

Mind you, look who's selling it.

'RIGHT THEN GUYS......."
Looking the description use of the wording that the V5 says RS2000 the auction house clearly know it ain’t original.

They should have picked a better colour though. Especially if they were going to sell it one day.
smash £40k https://www.mathewsons.co.uk/auction/lot/lot-237--...yikes
rofl ....Just checked the hinge pin ...finesse hey.

That's a very punchy price for a car that the ad claims is so authentic, but has an incorrect Ford VIN plate, Mk.2 RS alloys, bubbling paint around the strut top flitch plate seams, and has been painted a non-original colour for a '72 car...... laugh

Could it be Vista Orange & the dealer has called it the wrong colour ? Dealers often do get colours wrong, trying to be clever or just lazy...

It may be sprayable seam sealer around the top plates.

Any how, I think the asking price is the main issue.

Vista Orange is still wrong for a '72 car, as it only became available in the summer of '74 for the final 6-7 months of AVO production.

VERY nicely built car, 120k for a 2lt Milli though!!!! Think i might be out of touch with prices.

Back in 2014 i struggled to sell my Mk 2 [i built it in 2011/12] despite it being a quicker car than the one shown here. Couple of not very good pics of it when i finished building it, from home.

I painted it in a party tent in front of my garage, had two fans in there that kept the insects out wink

Looks nice. Isn't that sadev gear lever on the wrong way though.

One thing SW gets right is the packaging, there's almost nothing showing that needs to be. Does help with a canbus loom. That bonnet is a cheap one from MST and no remote canisters for the suspension. And definitely needs another 500cc to command that price. 160k new!

!
Yes, Sadev 6 sp sequential. Excellent G-box, although even though it had full throttle shift, i just could not bring myself to utilise that. On the loose, it would not change up particularly well if the wheels were spinning too much, hence i drove it normally, still at least i could not miss a gear unlike a ZF wink
Only time it let me down was whilst leading the Tempest rally in 2013 when a 50p C clip popped off the main shaft and i lost all drive.

You might be right re the G-Stick, i think that pic was taken before we fired it up. I recall the Gear indicator read back to front though, so had to reverse some wires.

I have until this thread never heard of Scott Williams, am I alone

That still seems overpriced to me.

I enjoyed this in the description:

“Don't just drive, dominate with Scott Williams Motorsport”

I sell quite a bit of stuff on eBay and one of the recent options is an AI generated description, which sounds remarkably like that cheese infested waffle. Obviously I deleted it straightaway. Someone should tell this chap to do the same.
