My 2.7 RS at the end of 1973 when it had been converted to RSR spec. Not the best looking piece of work I’ve ever seen biggrin

And then used in anger

Nice, looks like a lot of fun!

Wartime and no petrol coupons? There's a label on the radiator and sign on the windscreen so I going with being delivered to a dealer from the railway station. That's a heavy load on a wagon, is it a real photograph?
That’s really not a big load for a pair of draught horses to draw.

That would be a Tempo Hanseat. Not to be confused with the contemporaneous Borgward Goliath GD750 which was a very similar design but rwd rather than fwd.

The Tempo was built in Hamburg and equipped with a 400cc two stroke. A proper utility vehicle ideal for local deliveries but, given the 15hp on tap, not necessarily express deliveries.

A licensed and modified version of the Tempo was still available in India until the year 2000…

So in the background of this showroom we have a glimpse of the Tempo's competitor, the Goliath GD.

Of more interest is the car centre-stage - the Goliath 700 record car from 1951. An average of 155kph over 2 hours at Monthlery - that is brave.

If you were at Le Mans a few years back and wondered where the inspiration for the crazy Delta Wing came from - here's your answer.

Ah, of course!
Thank you, Moff. I knew it was strangely familiar but couldn't put my finger on it.
India of course.
Most of the examples I saw had been converted to run on CNG I think.

also lovely, I remember those from those classic trade overview books, sadly very rare cars, I believe I've never seen one for real.

You can buy one if you have £POA to spare:

I seem to recall they were asking £100K for it a while ago
