Is that a Wartburg estate? (outside lane going away from the photographer, behind the nearest truck)
Well spotted sir! It most certainly is.
I see Walts in hi-viz closing off half the motorway for a minor obstruction at the edge of the hard shoulder is not as new a thing as I thought it was hehe

Ah smashing. I was lucky enough to have one of these until last year. Lovely car.

A little artsy taken by myself in 1990. Garage and Volvo dealership in Louth, Lincolnshire. Sadly we cannot see how much the petrol was.

Time lapse so a few ghostly cars:

Is that a gold Shuv-It? So post '75 then? And a red Saab 99 far right?

You can just make out the numbers....

Looks like 36.9 (pence per litre) and what must be £1.67 and £1.49 per gallon.

Lovely Audi 100 C3 left of frame amongst the Volvos

Assuming 1975 that's damn near twelve quid a gallon inflation adjusted.

No mate. He said it was 1990.

My uncle's mate bought one new in '73 and kept it until 1984, a very impressive car all round.

Somewhere in Italy in the early '60s...

The dustbins don't look German to me and the number plates, if BAOR issued, aren't the format that was in use by the 1960s though I reckon that photo is probably earlier; nice collection of tax-free cars - even the MM.

That building looks very 1930's built German......
I reckon late 50's the photo was taken (ironically same time my uncle was out there with BOAR for his last tour before retirement from the Army after he did his twenty-two...)

Reminds me of the horrible grey flats you see in Scotland, but the weather looks too good for it to be there.

Unfortunately I don’t know where the photo was taken, but it came from a British nostalgia FB group

I like the fact that the owners are diligently cleaning the sports cars whilst the MM seems to be getting not attention at all. Although it does look clean so maybe that was done first
