F4/454/S 1934 11/2 Litre Mark II 2/4 seater Aston Martin
Known as a "Bertelli" Aston, after Augustus Cesare "Bert" Bertelli who owned and ran AM at the time.
William Renwick and Bert Bertelli bought Aston Martin after Bamford & Martin went out of business in 1925 as a way of marketing their own one and a half litre car. Their car had no relationship with the B&M car other than the engine size but the name Aston Martin was already established.
Bertelli Astons secured AM's racing pedigree with Class wins at major motor races including the Double Twelve at Brooklands and at Le Mans in the thirties.

Ecurie Bertelli have a rather nice MkII for sale (a rare two-seater, bodied by Bert's brother "Harry"), if you have a spare £275k: http://www.ecuriebertelli.com/sales/eb1080.asp
Can you imagine how much a team car is now?LordBretSinclair said:
Unusually tiny windscreen and very low roof line. The driver seems to be crouching behind the glass.Apparently it's a 1936 Vanden Plas 2-door Sports Tourer built in for Sir Malcolm Campbell - that accounts for the colour.

Continuing the Vauxhall theme, I pass this Viva on one of my routes in and out of work in Kingston. Because they are almost always parked together, I'm convinced the Victor belongs to the same family.
Owning both is cool even if the Victor itself isn't. The colour scheme is too loud to be cool.
The hat over the nearside mirror detracts too.

I always had a problem with British cars being jacked-up and customised to resemble a wannabe American. It just looks so lame. Like a Hillman Avenger in Starsky & Hutch colours or an "A Team" Bedford van replica. If you like Americana, buy American!Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
