this looks like a lot of style and sophistication for the money

not much sophistication in a 3 speed manual linked to a 1940s design straight 8, but it looks nice. Shame about the tatty interior.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221154397980?ssPageName=...

Magnificent looking and sounding Morris Minor Traveller, with large V8 poking out of the bonnet, a proper set of fat rear tyres, roll cage, wheelie bar.... lovely. Boship Roundabout on the A22, went round in front of me and pissed off into the distance once back on the dual carriageway, then turned off at the first junction heading back towards Eastbourne.
Refreshing to see something nice and different.
Think a blue Mk1 Capri went across the roundabout just in front of you as well, but I was somewhat distracted by burbling engine notes

I spotted something yesterday which I need help with identifying, Northbound on the M1 near Sheffield around 2pm. I was travelling in the opposite direction..
At first I thought it was a new Morgan Plus 8, but as it got closer and drove past it definitely wasn't. It appeared wider and higher than a Morgan, it obviously had that classic appearance and it looked in great condition. Part of me thought it could be a 'new' classic given its look but probably not.
I am rubbish with pre-War cars but the closest I can guess after a quick look online is a BMW 315 or 319, it did appear to have a kidney type grille. It was in dark blue. Anyone know of a possible matching example in the UK?
Cheers.

These Shadows are really starting to look cool.........Wonder why values are so poor???
In no particular order:1)Size
2)Thirst
3)Rust
4)Expensive to put right when they go wrong
5)Image problems (everyone thinks either you're running a wedding car company or pretending to be richer than you really are)
6)Handling that's not to everyone's taste (Roller by name - Roller by nature! )
7)Risk of being vandalised
To name but a few!
(BTW: To all the Rolls Royce fans: Please don't bother getting on your high horses about My calling it a "Roller" - it was purely for comedic affect! )

Bristol 400/1/2/3 perhaps.I am still thinking BMW, something like the one below, but the doors seem wrong. I thought they were higher up the bodyline.
In the essence of this thread, here's something I spotted last year - I know what it is but only by research:

Thanks. A part which stuck out at me were the doors, I think they were regular hinged doors (as opposed to the rear hinged/suicide doors on the Bristol) but something about the door handles looked a little wrong, they seemed to be either body colour (dark blue) or black, which is giving me the thought of a 'modernised' interpretation.

And.....I guess they made too many of them so price is always a result of supply and demand.

I think 2)Thirst and 3)Rust are the only two points of those given that can be applied as typical of most (all) old cars called classicsAnd.....I guess they made too many of them so price is always a result of supply and demand.
of course also agree that on all of them the price is down to supply and demand
