Tracing the plates led to a guy living in the outback of Holland: windy Zeeland.
Dinkel: beautiful car. Especially the interior. Brings back early memories of my Dad's Singer Gazelle, haven't thought about that for years! (DLA 804C where are you now?)Anyway, I was wondering if you could give me any tips on tracing Dutch plates? I bought my Corvette in the netherlands (The Gallery, Brummen) but I don't have any info on the previous owner except his name on a few old bills - surname Van Sarloos I think - and I know the old plate. Where would I start?
I was in the Gallery yesterday! Will post a few snaps end of this week.

No info on that plate . . . Maybe because you've bought it, they must've ditched the old plate.
Contact RDW for info. Good luck on that.
Love those Vette's:

What do you think of them? I wasn't impressed with my experience to be honest. The car was a dud and cost me a lot to put it right. Got some compensation from the Nico Aldering in the end but it didn't come anywhere near what it cost me just to get it to a level where it would pass the Belgian "oldtimer" registration (where they only check steering, chassis number and warning triangle!). Oh well, you live and learn... Thanks for trying with the reg

Are they a common sight on the UK roads these days?
Hardly ever see them, most of them have dissolved. It broke my heart the day my father sold his Wolseley 6/110 to the coalman for £40.00

I believe they used the engine out of the Austin Champ Jeep type vehicle, so not too sophisticated, but one of these 'Champs' did take a couple of my friends all the way to South Africa back in the seventies, so pretty reliable.
Oh, and my first car was a Wolseley 1500, which I paid 40 quid for.
It had more filler than metal, but took me over the new M62 to Manchester, to a job interview which landed me a brand new Hillman Hunter company car.
A sound investment.

dinkel wrote about his Dads Wolseley 16/60. My Dad bought a 15/60 new in 1960, Yukon grey and it was a treat inside, as dinkels photos show. My first car was a Wolseley 6/80, I loved that car, wanted one since I saw them new, (I was 4) but what a disappointment speed-wise! How did the "Ice-men" catch the Crooks? Well in those days many still rode cycles - probably, or they never caught the one's that drove Mk7 Jags.
