How about a 'period' classics pictures thread
Discussion
Love the "then and now" pics above.
The FD Victor (could be a 3.3 Ventora) custom car has "Loose Lady" signwritten on the front of the bonnet - from the days when custom cars were given names. I may have more pics of it somewhere in a pile of late 70s/early 80s custom car magazines (unless my parents have cleared their loft and thrown them away in the past 30 years).
I've known a few loose ladies in my time but does anyone know more / remember this one?

Oooh, another great photo! I'll start:
White car, second row between the SS Jaguar and Morris. Reg JLH900. Sloping grill, but its not a Triumph Gloria, which is the only thing I can think of which is similar
And a lovely Riley in the third row.
I'd say it's a Standard 14 c1948.White car, second row between the SS Jaguar and Morris. Reg JLH900. Sloping grill, but its not a Triumph Gloria, which is the only thing I can think of which is similar

The Riley looks like a 1936/7 Kestrel.

Apart from the few at the front...aren't the cars so well lined up facing the same way in each row. Looks almost more like a depot than a car park.williamp said:
The usual backstreet second hand car dealer in 1971:
A Bullet proof Mercedes770 staff car (original)
W154 race car (original)
1.5 litre supercharged Targa Florio (original)
38/250 (very) original with 4500 miles from new.
It's a W125, but that's nit-picking. Are those Colin Crabbe's old premises? There's a book due out very soon about Crabbe and his life of cars - he was a bona fide Grand Prix entrant at one point. A larger than life man.A Bullet proof Mercedes770 staff car (original)

Yes - the last service from there ran in '72 and it was used as a car park until it was completely demolished in '77. Ten years later a new station was built on the same site. I was watching an episode of 'The Protectors' the other day which was filmed there in '72!nicanary said:
