They really are amazing pictures , have you had the images enhanced in some way ?
Guy
No, I was fortunate that a friend of the original owner had taken a full set of high-quality slides when accompanying him on the tour. When I bought the car he kindly sent me the slides. Actually the picture quality of the slides is amazing, much better than those I have posted.Guy

Lovely but what are they? I dont recognise them at alli still remember as clearly as if happened only yesterday when the white one was loaded onto a trailer having been bought by a swiss collector. it is strange that as a little kid i remembered it so well. the police V8 came with studded winter tyres - the noise!, and a screaming kompressor. really quite an aural cacophony when it was lording it down the snowy lanes....
This is my Mechanic's Goldstar he used to race in the 60's. I know for a fact he raced this at Brands and he was quite a handy rider in his day! This picture was probobly in Croydon during the 60's. Awesome old bike.
And this is the Goldstar he has just finished restoring this year. It came in about 20 cardboard boxes, apparently the previous guy had lots of parts refurbished in the mid 80's and then wrapped them all in newspaper and put them in his loft!! Many parts were still in perfect condition despite being in newspaper for over 20 years. I think the tank is the racing version, or it may be the other way around and he took the racing tank off and replaced with the original road tank? Cannot remember, someone will know. I think these are quite valuable now but I doubt he will ever part with it.
Best thread on here, I must get some of my dad's old pictures out...
I won't post pictures from my site here as I have a lot of them and they aren't personal as these are.
1000s of 20s & 30s photos from LAT's archives, just finished 1927 Le Mans & French Grand Prix.
The site is here though www.austinharris.co.uk.

Echoing what's been said already, top marks to mph for posting those great pics. I've beein looking through them again and what I really like about them is:-
- the colour of the cars. No metallics! Brighter colours for nicer cars?, greys and neutrals for the more ordinary ones?.
- not that grey and neutrals look at all bad I fancy a repainting my MX5 now in a retro 50s colour.
- white wall tyres and 2 tone paint schemes
- pressed metal roadsigns
- plain black lettered advertising on buildings. So classy compared to today's multicoloured mess
- the yellow Shell van , just like a Dinky one i had.
Thanks again.
