- Both quite valuable cars now! Guess that people would have laughed if they were told that when this picture was taken.

That Vauxhall Ventora must have felt a bit "light" by the end of the straight! I hope the back axle had been beefed up a bit because ours was humming well by 20,000 miles and if he was still on the Firestone F7 Cavalino's, I trust he was carrying a prayer book with him! Directional stability was not their forte!rotaterolleyessmile

Just for comparison, a modern-day Ventora at the Pod. I saw this one perform there last week.

A bit late, being Jan 87 (Redhill) but...

They had a bad reputation for handling but I'm not sure how this was achieved in a 30 zone.

And my MG Metro from that time

Tremendous stuff! The guy down the road from us had a very similar (if not the same) model when i was a kid in the 70s. Don't know how he managed it, but it met a sticky end in his own front garden one day. As did the brick wall, which, until that point, had seperated his garden from the pavement!

Looks like a Ford Prefect to me. Don't think it's a Popular.

ETA: I assume you mean the one they're having their picnic out of?

maybe an E93 as said, but could be a E493 Prefect which would have been newer, with headlights built into the wings
