How do you like the tow car ? Studebaker Hawk V8 manual (on column) a real "Cruiser" for the towing on the motorway down to Brands from B'ham.

I had a Studebaker Corgi toy as a kid and as a result it's one of the very few American cars I like. That and an early C2 Stingray would be in my collection.

There's been a dilapidated Hawk on a local industrial estate for many years, oddly it's recently been moved. A later version I assume sans fins.

There were some modified Spitfires on this thread (previous postings)showing GT style hardtops, thought I would dig out the photo's of the one I did in the 60's when trying to brake into the early days of customizing

Terrible parking too. Double yellow lines, blocking a driveway, and a marathon to get to the kerb.

As for the ride height? Was that the polar opposite to the current Dub/Cal Look scene? I've seen lower riding green laners wink

Full of the joys of spring today, Guys , that Triumph Spitfire was work in progress just pushed into the street to have a look round, the engine is still on the bench in the workshop being rebuilt ,hence the height .Lost a whole pile of photos in a house flood that is the only one remaining so I cannot show it finished .
Photo, here is another mismatch ?

There were a number of those replacement fronts for Spidgets, I seem to remember Arkley was a popular one.

Yes, that's an Arkley SS (an MG Midget with a new front & rear). Most had a wide front opening and some had the original grille grafted on, but this one has a vaguely MG-shaped nose.
The kits were supplied (or conversions done for you) by TVR dealer John Britten at Arkley (the site was formerly Martin Lilley's Barnet Motor Company and later became the TVR Centre).

Ah, I hadn't made the connection with TVR Barnet although I should have because I knew one of the early TVR dealers was in Arkley.

This is the shape I'm more familiar with
