There's nowt wrong wi' Granny's parking. She's got that little Fiesta well inside the lines...
I'm just giggling at the 'catalogue pose' from the chap in the white daps stood leaning on the blue Reliant in the foreground. (Cool car, Bro!)
Also, middle of the back row, Red Capri, Blue Skoda Estelle (I think?), what's the yellow small hatch? (Chrysler/Talbot?), then a White SD1.
Haha, I've since noticed that both Grannys are poorly parked, hadn't noticed the one at the bottom of the picture.I'm just giggling at the 'catalogue pose' from the chap in the white daps stood leaning on the blue Reliant in the foreground. (Cool car, Bro!)

Whilst we're on a spotting frenzy YouTube have a brilliant Sweeney channel now.
Although one for rainy november rather than summer evenings.
The budget gets bigger and bigger as the series progress, so the quality improves IMO.

Looks to me like a W126 S Class MB, but I'm on a lappy and it's late and I'm tired...
W123 MB - vents on front scuttle in front of the screen, the W126 had a flush bonnet right up to the screen. There's a blue W123 estate in the middle of row 4, behind the VW camper.yellowjack said:

Definitely a VW Polo. Pre '80 facelift with the thin metal rather than bigger plastic bumperssoxboy said:
What's the car in 3rd row from the back, behind the brown mk1 Escort? It looks like a Jeep Cherokee to me, guess it may have been one of the first ones.
Yup Cherokee.williamp said:
But a Uk registered opel cavalier, rather then a vauxhall...
If you mean the yellow one, row 3, 2 right from the VW camper, I think it's a 2 door Opel Ascona B, which definitely existed for Europe, but I never realised made it to the UK. It could have been cashing in on it's rally success, with GM using the Cavalier brand for sales reps...I've managed to work out pretty much all of them...
Row 5 far left, rear view of a blue VW Passat Variant.
Row 9, from the left there's an Escort, Fiasco, another Escort, and then a mark 1 Audi 80 next to the Volvo. The Audi must have been at least 10 years old then.
Now, what's the blue coupe in front of the red Yugo to the right of the tourists in the Taunus? Single wiper tells me it's a mk 2 Scirocco. That and the mk 2 Golf way on the left hand end of Row 4 (you can just see a tail light) means I'm pitching this picture at around 1984 or 85.

I think the car with the 'tourists' is a Taunus. Maybe a 17M. But what about the caravanette next to the Marina van? Not a Commer, could it be a Barkas? Badge on the grille looks DKW.
definitely a Barkas - would be a very rare spot as an East German vehicle before 89and yes, a p5 17/20M Taunus, which would be pre-67
the UK Reg'd Ascona is an odd one too, I know that they had them in Ireland in RHD
Baur Cabrio E30 there too
big Merc 408 camper wasn't very common in the UK either
maybe a lot of this German stuff was British Forces Germany? a lot of bases around North Yorkshire
when did the dedicated BFG plates disappear to be replaced by the UK-like ones? was that not until about 1990?

looks like an Isuzu Piazza to me by the way, the pic is labelled '1985'

IMHO a very representative selection of their time.
The only one I had difficulty with was the tall estate in row 2 between the Triumph 1300 and the Datsun 120. Reliant Rebel? No it has 4 doors. Then I thought...... Renault 6 TL! Are they extinct nowdays?
Sorry to come back so late, but there are 25 Renault 6's licensed in the UK - of which 12 are TLs!The only one I had difficulty with was the tall estate in row 2 between the Triumph 1300 and the Datsun 120. Or tortoise and the hare that shot could be period if you didn't look hard enough for the sky dishes and later car to the left in shotWandering around the car boot sale last week I dropped on a load of old slides from a house clearance, so thinking of this thread I grabbed them before they got left for the bin. I'm not sure where half of these were taken, France probably given the number of French cars. Seventies for some, but there are some eighties Peugeots and so on in here as well.
Several DSs here, Citroen Ami
CF Camper, and interesting dark green van on the right hand side of the shot.
A little later, I see a Talbot Samba or whatever it was called there.
504 estate, are they 2x 404 estates?
There's quite an interesting small truck behind the Thumbsnap logo, I didn't think of that when I was uploading them.
505 on the left, and is that red thing an SD1 or a GS?
Not sure what the estate car is from the rear.
Several more DSs, R4s
Slide is labelled "Aber Falls" but I don't think it is.
Visiting Renault estate alongside Renault coupe and a 504.
On the ferry with some more R4s
I see an R16 and the family Volvo, is the far right a Fiat 128, and can't make out the rear window just near the washing on the right.
