A couple more from my purchased batch of Preston area photos:

1979 MGB GT OEC857V c.1980/81 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr

This one is still around and on SORN, MoT apparently expires tomorrow.

1969 Austin Healey Sprite NFV713G c.1980/81 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr

This Sprite made it to 1991. Not bad as even by 1980/81 it looks to have seen a bit of life.

My contact at the local second hand bookshop has acquired another slide collection, these are some of them.

The third picture is Aldeburgh and I'm pretty sure the forth is Southwold.

I'm sure that I've been to the location in the top picture but I just can't place it !

4th is definitely Southwold, looking from the market place down to Gunn Hill

Isn't it all a bit whitewashy for Sheringham? Surely that'd be more brick and flint? I really ought to know because my family's from round there - sister lived at Mundesley, and whole tribe is from the Bacton/Happisburgh/North Walshem area.

Northrepps, Southrepps, Gimingham,Trimingham, Trunch. Use to be a verse from some kids' play or other....

Where's the castle in the last one? Flags are at half mast.

Is the bottom one Conwy Castle?

Don't think the first one is Sheringham, agree with Aldeburgh and Southwold (both before they got ruined).

Definitely the Lake District. Hawkshead to be precise.

Excellent stuff, great variety to be seen. I'm particularly pleased to see the Datsun Violet content in these two shots. There's a white 140J saloon TOP45S, which DVLA says lasted only until 1984, then a turquoise 160J SSS in the Southwold photo. I had one of the latter and enjoyed many miles in it, same colour but with a vinyl roof for added period charm (and rust around the windscreen edge). Realising this photo was taken in 1996, it could now be considered a period shot itself:

I have an old F.W. Pawsey postcard giving pretty much the same shot of Aldeburgh:

When I took approximately the same photo a few years ago there was nothing so interesting to be seen:
