Not sure if we've had these before but in for a penny, in for a pound - London street scenes from the '60s and early '70s...
Early DBS...

A Monteverdi! Early DBS...

And doesn't that DBS make all the others look old?
Fantastic group of pictures
Mid 1980s and parts could still be found at BL dealers, most of whom were glad to get shot of old TR parts cluttering up their stockrooms and taking space from their much more valuable stock of Metro, Princess and Ital parts
Need to change over the rust prone front inner wing? Get some mates around and stock up the fridge!
Some skilled fettling might be required...

Agreed, but it demonstrates the problem with the digital age, many of the images at the start are no longer available.
That's one of the reasons I started using Thumbsnap rather than Photobucket for my posts. The other was that I underestimated the popularity of this thread, uploaded some at the start of a month, and had the PB "too popular" message for all my photos, everywhere, until someone loaded enough on here to flip over to another page.williamp said:

No, Basildon 3090. It says so on the bsck...Newbie here....Just finished a couple of days reading this great thread. I have lots of car pics to contribute if that's OK?
First is my grandad (3rd from left) and his works Standard van working on Castle Bromwich Airfield (of Spitfire fame). My dad had rented part of it in 1960 for his Plant Hire business:
Next up is a pic of custom beaver tail Austin (or was it a Morris?) before signwriting on the runway:
Then the Austin Gipsy ordered new which went round the clock twice!
And finally the Austin Site service van....All taken around 1960:
Got more if you want them?

Not 100% but I think it was the Morris J2?Looking at the tyres on the dumpers, if you look at the tread on the front axles, it seems that the ones on the dumper on the trailer are fitted the wrong way round. I suppose it's a bit late to complain about it now really.

As Hidetheelephants says....Dumpers are much different to drive than cars. I started driving at the age of 10 on the airfield. One of the times I tried it on my own, I selected 3rd gear, the dumper shot off at speed and I fell off backwards because the steering wheel hadn't been bolted back on. The dumper crashed into the side of a lorry. This was due to the steering mechanism is not self centering it goes either to one side or the other. I was persona non grata for many weeks, for taking the dumper for a spin without asking.
Here is that J2:again after signwriting:Around 1960.
Dads Vanguard circa 1955:
Ford Consul Mk 1 circa 1955:
Ford Consul mk 2 circa 1956:
And finally Dad with Riley 1.5 circa 1957. He came home with this brand new in 1957. He was chuffed to bits with it. Quite a sporty saloon for the day. However mom liked the look of it but when she sat in the back her hair (boufont style) touched the roof. The car HAD TO GO!:
