How about a 'period' classics pictures thread
Discussion
When did you last see one of these on the road, let alone as modified as this one?
Taken at Ragley Hall in early 1987 (possibly 1988). The weather was lovely, hence the assistance needed to even get out of the paddock let alone keep it on track. I'm pretty sure we saw at least one car get 100 yards or more away from the track at one point in the day...
Some interesting cars in the paddock in the background too.
It did dry up a bit - note the track is now dry...
And this also came out to play...

Wonderful pictures of the AC.
I'm pretty sure that Robin Rew also offered turbo conversions for road cars also as the standard car wasn't particularly rapid.
I'll bet the current owner of that 288GTO would have palpitations if he knew he's car was up to such antics a few years ago!
The Robin Rew car is alive and well, there are a lot of ME3000's about with modified engines. Barrie Bird modified his considerably with triple webbers, hairy cam, tubular manifold etc. used to frighten the s..t out of me.I'm pretty sure that Robin Rew also offered turbo conversions for road cars also as the standard car wasn't particularly rapid.

It made me think of being ten and going into Jessups on Wharf Road in Stamford to blag the latest Ford range brochure. 'It's for my Dad honest.' Then round to Marshalls on St Paul's street with the same story for a Rover SD1 brochure. olly22n said:
We bought our Sierra xr4x4 from jessups. I think Marshalls was before my time but there is only one place it could be on St. Paul's.
I left Stamford in 1982 but used to visit still. Marshals was around until at least the late 1980s. Had a tiny showroom on the street and a slightly bigger one - not much bigger - set back from the road. It's now a school shop - the small showroom - and the rest looks derelict/under redevelopment according to Google

The Ford dealer, TC Harrison, on Wharf Road is still there although on the opposite side of the road. They sold off the original site for housing development and built a brand new showroom across the road about 10 years ago.
