My Mum and Dad in the mid 1960s with their Triumph 2000 registration BVT305C

What a great looking car they were.

Mk 2 Jag looks rediculously small next to the Hillman on the back row.

Any thoughts on the sports car in the same area, in front of the wall?

How about the 2 cars between the Vanguard and the M3 Zodiac? Dark one looks like a Riley but not sure which model.

Riley Pathfinder next to the Zodiac I reckon.

What's to the left of the Mk2 Jag, a FC Victor 101?

Certainly looks like a Riley at first glance. But it appears to have a chrome strip on the front wing and front door. That, and the shape of the front bumper (which seems to dip towards the centre) suggests it might be a Wolseley 6/90.
The Pathfinder had no chrome on its flanks, and the later Two-Point-Six had chrome from front to back.

Probably right with that, or the Wolseley equivalent possibly? 15/50 I believe... Is the little grey one next to it (and hiding behind the Zephyr 4) some form of Standard? (possibly a 10)

The Zephyr 4 could also be an early candidate for the bad parking thread. smile

Whatever they are, thanks for posting it, I love pictures like this.

I think I would go PB Cresta too. A 101 would date the picture a bit later than we thought.

As for the Riley, Wasn't the Pathfinder a bigger car altogether? Similar size to the Zodiac?
I am leaning toward the idea of a Wolseley 4/44.

I think you're right. There's a pronounced contour over the rear wheel-arch that the bigger car didn't have.
So, Wolseley 4/44 - or the later 15/50 (same bodywork, newer engine).

Taken I think about 1964 on a family camping holiday just outside Oban. As a 10 year old with a box brownie I wasn't sure about the ethics of taking a photo of someone elses car so I sat my sisters and cousins in front and took a snap. From memory it was a sandy coloured metallic Barracuda.

A Sprite Alpine in the background , though possibly a Musketeer, and a Thomson of some sort to the right.

Thinking about the demise of the Land Rover [That is what they used to be known as, Defender is a much later name] Here are 6 new Landies in 1961 being issued to Birmingham Police.:

Great pics.

Particularly like the shot showing a couple of older cars & the modern design of the tower block in the background.

Fantastic picture - and all consecutive registration numbers as was the way back then ...

A quick check reveals:

223 EVP - not registered since 1990

224 EVP - Currently taxed

225 EVP - SORN

226-228 EVP - no records

So two out of the six are still about - testament to their longevity.

Real period stuff - superb. Any idea of where this was, Tone?

Love the row of immaculate aluminium-doored garages in the back there ... bet they don't look quite as good now!

The picture was taken outside our house in Fen Road, RAF Marham. My dad was in the RAF at the time and that was our Married Quarter.

Cheers. Google Earth doesn't permit a view today. Maybe if it's on the camp then those ali garages look better than new!
