Thanks for that, I didn't know where it was. I'm trying to work out where the first one is but I'm not really sure, I thought it might be Birchington but I can't find anywhere that looks similar on google earth. The last one is Aachen in Germany

At a guess the 1st photo could be Dover. Tenterden is approx 30 miles from Dover.

I'm sure that I've seen more images of that Frogeye somewhere else before. Perhaps a rear end shot by the waterside and boats?
Isn't it a great "period" picture! You could almost imagine it being used as a publicity shot by BMC.

p.s. Where was it taken? It looks remarkably like a sailing club near me in Maidenhead but then I guess most sailing clubs look similar hehe
I have probably put this other pic on other forums - you have a good memory!

The photos were taken in 1969 or 1970 at a Lake near Felbridge, East Grinstead, Sussex.

About a year ago, I realised I had never checked to see if it was still registered - and it was, although it is now white.

So I fired off an email to the Austin Healey Owners Club and received a reply that the car belonged to one of their members in Norfolk and that my details would be forwarded to them.

But I have never heard from them. I don't know about you, but if a previous owner of my car made contact with me, I would be so interested that I would be in touch immediately.

So if anyone sees a white Frogeye registration number TWS 423 - tell the owner to contact me, I have several more pictures and of course four years of great memories that I would be delighted to share with them.

I thought that you may be inmterested in this then.

Gary

Thanks so much for that.

It is 38 years since I last saw the car, and the photo brought a lump to my throat, like meeting a long lost friend!

Now I need to contact the photgrapher.

I am putting together my history of incidents with the car and will pm it to you with some of the other pics.

Was that Hedgecourt Lake?

Moikey

I have never known what the Lake is called and Google maps don't name it either.

To get to it turn off the A22 onto the A264 direction Copthorne, just past Felbridge Village green, fork right into Mill Lane and the Lake is at the bottom.

I have an Aunt who lives about a mile away.

Incredible - all this interest in a pic taken 40 years ago!

Right here come the dodgy '70s Citroen pics biggrin

Me and a 2CV in Southend around '73

My Dad's GS, a couple of hours after buying it, in December '72. Taken in Valentines Park, Ilford.

My Dad's second Citroen GS, probably taken in August '75

An old banger of a Traction taken around '73 in Ilford

Traction taken at a 2CV Cross or Citroen Car Club day probably around mid '76, with an early CX Pallas in the background.

Multimap does. Multimap's OS maps are far more useful than Google for this sort of thing. Google does roads and directions, but is not much use for anything else.

Loving this thread. Already asked my father if I can spend some time with his negative scanner and his slides from 1975 to 1985. Hope to post something next week when I'm back "home".

Whilst we are on the subject of old Citroens, here's my first car, parked outside Roscoe and Gladstone Halls of residence at Liverpool University.

It is the summer of 1986.

We are now in 1987 and the Citroen has been replaced by a Mini 1000. Here it is next to my Westfield Seven, that Dad and I had just finished building.

And here is the Seven...

1989, and the Westfield has been sold and the Mini 1000 replaced with a 1275GT. Here it is, complete with groovy Cosmic alloys. Mum's new Granada is behind.

Here's a nice pic of my old Triumph Bonneville, just after I finished rebuilding it in 1999.

That baby girl in the middle is my elder daughter. She is now a teenager.

A much more recent pic of me washing my old 1973 Airportable Landie. This is back in about 2001.
