Old photo from Union Street Aberdeen, vintage rally

Built in the 70s, now John Lewis store with early Mk3 Escort

Keeping the Mk3 Escort theme, this is the old taxi rank at Aberdeen Station, few years prior to a new development called Union Square. Looks like a Toyota Corolla (or Mazda?) to the left

Old Majestic Cinema, looks like A30/5, Daimler Conquest (?) and Morris 1000 convertible

Did those vans actually detect or were they just to scare people?
I believe the latter. Various theories abound about what they would actually detect from a TV. Most of their work is knock on doors and subtly intimidating people into paying up.

You are indeed correct! I'd never heard of a Singer Hunter and was going to mention the Hillman Hunter but obviously that's how the name Hunter got into the Rootes Group portfolio. Live & learn eh!
