My grandparents lived in Westerham until 1972 and I can only remember the Crayford Conversions garage at the end of the high street. The only other garage is the VW place out on the road to Biggin Hill (Fox?).
However, I only ever walked around the village so if it was on the other roads or further out of town I'd not have seen it.
WOW never knew about the Crayford thing my Nan lived in the valley I remember Kings Road just being a dirt track as a kid before the valley was developed However, I only ever walked around the village so if it was on the other roads or further out of town I'd not have seen it.

A slight diversion but, earlier this morning, I was explaining to our seven and nine year olds that "Singapore Arlines - a great way to fly" strap-line has been around for as long as I can remember. To illustrate the point, I went onto YouTube and found this ad from the 60s. Just look at the British cars in the early scenes of the as - nothing like Sing today!

Firestone factory on the left. That's the era of the Great West Road I remember as a kid, when in the weeks leading up to xmas, my Dad would take me out one evening to drive up and down the Great West Road to see all the xmas trees and lights lit up that those old firms would put up for xmas.

Surprisingly quaint but I was already driving by then!
Second pic, car in the foreground? My guess.... Opel Rekord Coupe. What about the sports car in the outside lane? I thought a Sebring or similarly modified Sprite but the one in the inside lane defies the scale of it.

Anyone remember the office block with Alfa Laval on it by the side of the M4 (south side) - just before Chiswick, mid 80s ...
I still call it that these days. It's occupied partially by Sega nowI also remember one of the buildings was Wang computers, not sure what happened to them.
It's all glass and chrome showrooms now, Audi Merc vw and recently Kia.
They are all trying to outdo each other
