Just found these pics of Lotus Cortinas parked up in Wolsey Crescent, New Addington circa 1978/9.
Geoff owned the D reg in all 3 pics, unfortunately it is was destroyed by fire in 1980 when the carbs spat back and ignited.
He replaced it with a 'red 78 Lancia Monte Carlo in 1980, which he still owned up until he passed away in 2012.

I think the rear one was owned by the late, Tony Lyn-Jones at the time, he lived in Dartford, so fits location wise? I think he sold it around '81/82 ish?
Interesting stuff,,I will ask my friend who lived opposite if he knew Tony :-)

Must be a little later than 1950, that's a Standard Vanguard Phase 1a or Phase 2 the earliest possible is therefore 1952.

Found these of my Dad's mk2 Escort. First two pics were from about 1979 when my parents were "courting", camping in Folkestone IIRC

Last pic was a sad day in 1993 the day before it got scrapped, terminal rot, remember my dad being pretty cut up about seeing it go... we're pretty sure it ended its days on the banger racing circuit. Odd to think it was only 15 years old, at the time it seemed pretty ancient. The white car behind the skip was a battered old early Sierra estate that belonged to the bloke opposite, it was mainly isopon and GRP biggrin
