The slides are labelled Richmond, Richmond, Richmond and Horsey Mill. The last one also says BH37, not sure if that's the postcode or something else.

Third one is Richmond in N Yorks. I've got a feeling the first two are as well.
Yes, you're correct. Though I did assume it was Richmond, Surrey rather than Yorkshire.

Fantastic pictures! I particularly like the Granada and the plate really suits it, is the plate still owned by you?
The plates were blingy ones you could buy in the 70s and yes I still have the reg.

Here's one of my dad's Standard Vanguard (I think) taken around 1959, he traded it in for a new Anglia.

Missed your first post with the answer!

Because I've got nothing better to do this morning, I tracked down the other two Richmond views which are:

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.403717,-1.742033...

No road works in the last one, so clearly the work hasn't taken that long to do!

Wonderful. Any more pictures from the yard?

Depends what you want to see, my dad loved using Kodachrome in the 50s and 60s so I have loads of slides that I am slowly scanning. Here's one form the same yard where he worked in Bolton.

Here's a couple from the family business, that's me and my dad by the Thames Trader, must be about 1959

a Jag Mk4? and a Leyland Super Comet about 1958

Another picture of the yard in Bolton (sorry for the poor quality) and what I think has replaced it using Google maps.

Going through some old photos at my Dad's house today we came across this picture of his Mini Cooper, apparantly taken on the day he picked it up brand new. A Morris Mini Cooper, tartan red with a black roof.

He later uprated the engine to a 1275 "S", painted the roof white and took it rallying. If I find any pics of it in competition spec I'll post them up.

By 1980 I could afford my first Capri, cool car for a 19 year old!! A 1.6GL with some chrome after market wheels after a visit to the custom car show at Ali Pali.
I particularly like this one.
Me too, it epitomizes that period perfectly and the simple pleasures of motoring freedom denied the current youth by over zealous insurance premiums. I paid £200 at 19 y.o. for the insurance on my 2 litre Mk2 Capri Ghia in the mid 80s. The only reason I didn't get a 3 litre S was I thought £300 per annum was unreasonable!

There's a need for the car to have a valid MOT to transfer the plate off (though I don't know if there was back then), maybe the rust that Lancias had a reputation for crept up and made it uneconomical to deal with.

Those four were Yarmouth, Winslow x 2, and Thame. Here's the final four.

A thought springs to mind,if a similar picture was taken today most of the cars would be silver!

Here's one of three Capris I owned, this one is a 3.0S.

and my Granada 3.0GXL, it was my dads car from new and he fitted the Ghia grill to it.

I bought this new, 1100 Escort, the most boring car going and PX'd it for a new XR3 when they were introduced a few months later.

Where the 2 pics at the top taken in Lee? Certainly looks familiar.

Well, the Humber has a Huddersfield registration and one of the hotels says 'The Cliff' so I'm narrowing it down to a coastal town in the north of the UK.

With it being black and white we can't tell the colour of the stone but wonders if it may even be Scotland.

I'd say a Humber Super Snipe. Also in the pic - Triumph Herald and a Singer Gazelle. The sporty front on the right looks interesting. XK?
