Hi all,
Anyone into 70's and 80's custom cars? I don't see a lot of pics or mention about these cars (maybe it's just me who still likes them? although I will admit I would probably feel a little embarrassed driving one of them down the street now).
I love the jacked up rear ends, wolfrace wheels and custom paint jobs, here's a few pics:

A workmates brother built it,came down to our monthly rod meet at gatwick a couple of weeks ago.
Sadly his brother died some years ago so he now looks after it.He also owns/built a blown 7500cc V8 Ford Pop!
Me,I love a 70's custom,so much so I got me own!!

I was very much so in the 70s & 80s, particularly the British hotrod scene. Had a go at building my own Ford Pop SBC hotrod in the early 80s having been very much influenced my by the likes of Al's Gasser, Pinball Wizard and a very larry small block Ford powered pop that I saw pull a proper dragster type wheelie along Chelsea Bridge one night.
Would love to know if Pinball Wizard still exists?

Here's my take on the 70's - my 55 V8 minor with lowlight wings (Black leather interior from Audi TT). I also have a genuine lowlight which i've owned from 1972 - getting rebuilt just now with LS1 power.

Here's a rave from the grave (everyone thought it had been scrapped) - Astral Traveller - a show winner from the early 70's. I saw it being built and always admired it. I don't know whether to have a punt on it or not.

That'd be a great project getting it back to how it was....
I just had a massive search through Google to see if I could find a pic of Astral Traveller as it was originally. I did find a couple eventually - posted by a certain plastic orange...

Well, I decided to buy it. I'll try and return it to how it was - I still know the original builder.
It will be number 3 in my queue of Minors though.

Nice one plastic orange. Keep us posted on the progress, I realise with all those other cars you have that it may take some time, but don't let it rot away mate, too many have already gone down that route. It will be number 3 in my queue of Minors though.

PS 36 months and only 10 posts? - what have you been doing - lol.
