Any details / specs please sir?
I know it's 2 litre grunt, but what is it all about then. The car was an absolute riot on the track!
All very secret. I think it is an 89mm engine so about 2300cc. The Carbs are 2xHS8's! on a custom made inlet. Head seriously trick (a copy of my alloy one I still have - but without the exta bits required to keep the alloy one sealed - no such issue with the steel head on steel block). Head made from a new blank With all that allows you to do.....I know it's 2 litre grunt, but what is it all about then. The car was an absolute riot on the track!

HS8 = racing SUs, that's legal innit?
2300 . . . well, a good thng Dron did not come to Zandvoort
Don't hold me to he 89mm (I a only guessing). Even so a 87mm (fia) is 2215ish. 2300 . . . well, a good thng Dron did not come to Zandvoort
HS8 mean 2" SU - i.e. Huge - hard to get working on a TR - took me a while.
PM me if you want close up pic's.
I did this head in 2004 after having sealing issues with the ally one) exact copy - both from fresh castings. Still have fastest TR the lap record at Thruxton with it.
From what I hear the MGB's are mostly bigger than the 1840 fia size as this and fia event or a Equipe GTS type race (close to but not exactly fully fia).
Extremely fast, I was gobsmacked. The TR3 in standard form is 900 kgs. For racing I guess 50 to 100 kgs could be shaven off. Drop the 200+ brake motor in and you'll have a missle.
A milder prepped TR3. Shows how nice a car it is. TR4 was a huge step forward though.
But my favourite in the compact sports car class goes to this:
The MG Midget MkI-III / 1500, or the Austin Healey Sprite MkII-IV.
Tasty little buggers with smaller engines than the TR3, BMCA 998 to 1275 cc, or 1380 cc in racing guise, overbore and all.
Morgan being quick as usual.
Ben Konst superb Healey. He comes and goes to the tracks: no trailer needed!
Classic car racing at Zandvoort.
More.

TR3 underneath is the same as a TR4 bar wider out riggers.A milder prepped TR3. Shows how nice a car it is. TR4 was a huge step forward though.
I do like the late 3a like this one with the wide grill (more like a 4), I was never a fan of the exposed seating / arm on the 2 / 3 though - easy for arm to fall out in a roll. Do I sound a bit Gay..........!
A TR3Beta is a cool car, a 3 with a TR4 or widened TR3 chassis and big wide wings
Wot I mean is: a TR3 looks so 50s, a bit old hat. TR4 design-wise it's a firm step up. TR5 a bit too beautifull for what it is IMO. And too bloody expensive today!
TR6 is it: purposefull. For well under 20K one can have a cracking 6. Lotery please! I'd have one stripped to the bone and loud.

Loud can be nice Fast and Loud!TR6 is it: purposefull. For well under 20K one can have a cracking 6. Lotery please! I'd have one stripped to the bone and loud.
Maybe I should put a passenger seat in it.
TR4 (looks like a 5)
TR6 (goes like a 5)
The car is a rep, and a very good one. Webered 4.2 and no brakes - cold! - made this good fun on the empty Zolder paddocks. I had to look for the ditches which were to deep for the Jags liking. I quickly found a nice '8' to perform my 2nd gear antics. It takes a few revs before oomph, but when it goes it goes!
