It's the Stig's uncle Brian. Some say he never ever wore a seatbelt. Not even in bed.

Brian Muir was a top driver. He drove that 3000E at FordSports Day with Malcolm Gartlan being his " Entrant".

The following year, Muir drove for Malcolm Gartlan in the BMW Concessionaires owned / Alpina prepared 3.0 CSL ( with James Hunt at the Zandvoort 4 hours race )

Didn't think it was Maize, thought it was Daytona for a start but now when I look at it again . . .
Looks Maize to me, but, I'd say studio shots are probably affecting the shade of colour in the photos.

Note - it apparently has rostyle alloys according to dealer's ad! (Try lifting one). Am just nitpicking dealer's listing though. However, . . . . they are asking £30k for a Capri, get your facts right!
I agree, but typical for speculative dealers with old Fords, as they usually don't really know jack about them and are hoping that the casual investor type, that equally knows very little will be the one buying rather than a nerdy Ford enthusiast.

Wonder if this one survived into the 21st century? Paid £600 for it in the mid 80's

Yes Marine Blue RS3100, still exists I was offered it a number of years ago but had no where to keep it so passed it on to a friend who still owns it to this day and it will be restored.

RSCapriman - my mum hasn't seen the chap who used to own the RS pictured a few weeks ago. I am extracting my Capri from her garage to bring back to mine one weekend soon - I dare say as soon as he hears the engine he will show up (usually does) so I'll speak to him myself.

An old car salesman I knew (Bill, not with us anymore unfortunately) when I was working at a main dealer had one of these wink he knew I was into Capri's and bought in some photo's to prove he said something about two power options at the time he made a few trips to the continent and raved about its performance in its day thumbup he worked for many of the big London agents/dealers in his day and would imagine the car was only months or even weeks old when he got hold of it scratchchin
