Going on saturday morning for a variety of things - bacon roll being one, interesting to see that spitfire there as usually there's not any classics about - didn't happen to spot any MGBs?
Any chance you could find out if the Spitfire is for Sale, and if so how much please?Marvib said:

nope, standard early Herald Coupe
roofs could be unbolted, just like the saloons though
It is not a coupe the roof is an after market coupe-style roof that fits on a convertible. I'd say 1962 onwards 1200 convertible. None original white bit added later too. roofs could be unbolted, just like the saloons though
Right that's sorted who is going to save it?
Whilst I'm not a current authority on Heralds I was proud to have owned just about every possible variant 'back in the day.'
The roof is definately aftermarket because the rear mounting clearly has an extended flange to cover the hood whilst in position. Header rail is a different shape too, as well as the side panels which were mostly corrugated on the factory version AIRC.
I placed it early because of the bumpers not having the white rubber covers which normally meant a 948 car although some reckon there was a poverty spec 1200 similar. I thought 948s had a handle on the bonnet though.
As for taking off the roof, accepted wisdom used to be Coupe yes, 'cos they've got the same stiffening as the convertible. Roof off the saloon was asking for trouble.
That one does look a nice straight car, would be good to see it saved.

I took my Reliant race car to a nearby workshop today for a session and thought I'd show you some of the dead/dying motors in his yard... No idea what the story is on any of these, but some nice metal/fibreglass there!
Slightly battered looking Esprit and a tidy Corrado. Behind is one of a few of the Imp family dotted about!
Another Imp and one of a brace of RS Turbos - I think this might be a parts car for the other which looked a lot better.
Orange '02 - pretty sure this one isn't abandoned but had to be worth a picture as it is gorgeous!
Mk1 Fiesta, a competition car at some point but not for a while I guess (harness dated 2006). Beautiful multipoint cage in there.
Nova saloon competition car (or garden ornament)...
And lastly a very tired Imp (no screen in northern Scotland = some epic rust) and a Husky - can't remember the last time I saw one if ever!
There was also a 911 (993 vintage I think) there that looked a little tired along with a few moderns

not sure if it was for sale, but i'm sure everyone has their price but it was very, very,
very, knackered. dash and clocks look redeemable and some of the exterior trim could do with just a rechrome, but the shell was shot to bits.
