also saw an orion.. had to snap it
Blimey, that onion is old skool ! (and not in a good way imho ) Always thought ford should have made an RS Turbo Onion from the factory. I can see why they didn't, as the amount of people interested in it would be been very small, perhaps me alone.
I came a cross a load of intersting cars on a farm yesterday:
XJ6 Coupe
Fiat 130 Coupe
NSU Prince
Lancia Fulvia 1.3
Austin Westminster and Morris Minors
Lancia Fulvia, Lanci Flaminia, Mini, A35(?) Imp, etc.
Commer lorry (race car transporter) and Lancia Beta Coupe
Imps
All obviously too far gone, but I did find a Hartwell Stiletto Imp in reasonable condition buried under stuff in a barn - no pictures.

I took my Reliant race car to a nearby workshop today for a session and thought I'd show you some of the dead/dying motors in his yard... No idea what the story is on any of these, but some nice metal/fibreglass there!
Slightly battered looking Esprit and a tidy Corrado. Behind is one of a few of the Imp family dotted about!
Mk1 Fiesta, a competition car at some point but not for a while I guess (harness dated 2006). Beautiful multipoint cage in there.
The Imp coupe (Stilletoe) should be saved
That lotus is very nice. Surely easy to save. Slightly battered looking Esprit and a tidy Corrado. Behind is one of a few of the Imp family dotted about!

Some of the other pics of corroding cars surely they are physically possible to restore? Or they are bought by owners clubs and used as breaker cars to keep the cared for examples going longer.

Look at Focus ST new version - 5dr and estate only
Att. maxc - Could you let me know how you knew the Commer was an old race car transporter? Can you remember what was written on the sides or what you were informed?
Just i know others who are really into that sort of vehicle, and they might be interested in getting in touch with the owner.

Nicanary - There is a family conection so contact is not an issue. The lorry was my father's, just parked at the farm when he stopped racing. It carried an Allard and a C-Type at different times. It was parked up in 71 or 72 (after returning from Crystal Palace) and to my knowledge has not moved since. I have memories of sleeping in a hammock above the car whilst en-route from Somerset to various tracks through the night. It is in poor cosmetic condition - half of the roof covering has gone, but the chassis is good and the engine would certainly run with a bit of fiddling - on 4 star!. The body is ally so is sound and the basic frame is still good. It even has a Gold Leaf Team Lotus sticker on the quarterlight I stuck there in the late 60s! As an aside, it was good to see the Ecurie Ecosse truck at Goodwood -I remember playing in it with Nigel Corner and Ron Fry's son during that period. PM me for more details if interested.

Many thanks for your prompt response. If I need to, I will come back to you.I'm a new member here, browsing through interesting sounding threads...
This one reminds me of my friend, who about 10 years ago bought two Riley RMs (one in reasonable shape, the other for parts), and put them at the end of his garden, with a view to restoring the best one.
Trouble is, he then decided to extend his house across the full width of his house. They can only be removed now with either a helicopter, or dismantled into pieces small enough to go through a domestic doorway!
They are now slowly rusting away...
