I'm a new member here, browsing through interesting sounding threads...
This one reminds me of my friend, who about 10 years ago bought two Riley RMs (one in reasonable shape, the other for parts), and put them at the end of his garden, with a view to restoring the best one.
Trouble is, he then decided to extend his house across the full width of his house. They can only be removed now with either a helicopter, or dismantled into pieces small enough to go through a domestic doorway!
They are now slowly rusting away...
Fill them with helium and float them out? Just a thought? This one reminds me of my friend, who about 10 years ago bought two Riley RMs (one in reasonable shape, the other for parts), and put them at the end of his garden, with a view to restoring the best one.

Yup, same engine as fitted to Bluebird Turbos and in n/a form Sunny ZX. IIRC around 174 bhp and somewhat laggy. There was also a n/a 2.0 Twin Cam Silvia S12 fitted with a FJ20 engine, rare as a Carlton Cole hat-trick.
I vividly remember the day I started work at a Nissan dealer in 1987 there was a grey Silvia in the showroom priced at £11K. Lovely.
The S12 8v turbo only put out 120bhp (ish) and the 16v NA FJ20E around 145bhp and the UK FJ20E models came with a LSD, tooI vividly remember the day I started work at a Nissan dealer in 1987 there was a grey Silvia in the showroom priced at £11K. Lovely.

Saw this last night. Too late for it I suspect!
I thought the truck's number plate was apt!The Jag has been off the road since 1988, and is a March 1977 registered example, so reasonably early.
What a pity. It's undoubtedly way too far gone, but I lusted after these as a kid in the seventies and it hurts to see one in this state. Why did they not put the XJ-S on top of the utterly worthless Escort....?I thought the truck's number plate was apt!The Jag has been off the road since 1988, and is a March 1977 registered example, so reasonably early.

After that little mod i was able to keep neck and neck with a prelude ( h22a ) so estimated ~200bhp
at higher revs the turbo couldent keep the boost levels up though unfortunately ( too small )

I wish! I offered to help the guys work on it, clean the floor, get cups of coffee, anything to try and give them time to work on it!
I thought it was a D-Type. What makes you think it is not real?

Lowdrag will tell you straight away that it's a RAM replica - the rear fin is too horizontal. We've been through all this before.
The reason it's a Jag on the reg records is because it will be based on a Jag donor vehicle, hence the XK engine.(I would love to be wrong, by the way).
Yes but its got a 5 carb set-up! Very rare. Just think of all the torque. Even lowdrag hasnt tried a 5 carb set-up The reason it's a Jag on the reg records is because it will be based on a Jag donor vehicle, hence the XK engine.(I would love to be wrong, by the way).
