Classics left to die/rotting pics

IMHO the 'left to die' one is A35 and the restored one is A30. Regardless of the painted or chrome thing, the 35 has a bigger grille. I believe it's the 30 which has the plated grille, the 35 has a painted one with a chrome surround. The surround is all that's left on the rotting car anyway.
The restored four-door is a very early AS3-type A30, retro-fitted with flashing indicators. I think it still has the small rear window, although it's not clear in this shot. Giveaway that it's an AS3 is the separate Austin badge just visible above the main chrome grille, not found on later A30s which had a larger chrome grille incorporating an Austin badge. A peek inside would reveal a circular speedo too, plus other detail differences. The fuel filler neck is in the o/s/r wing, while on later A30s and A35s it's set into the rear panel.The "garden find" car is an A35, the gutter arrangement over the screen is different when compared to the A30, and as pointed out the chrome surround to the painted grille can be seen.

Picked my daughter up from horse riding this morning, she was still on her hack so I had time to wander around the yard (which has a few old barns let to body repair shops etc) and stumbled across these;
Merc 2.3 16v
Brabus of some sort;
I was asked (very abruptly) by an eastern European chap to not take photo's and to delete the ones I had taken and that the cars were NOT for f*****g sale.........maybe if he had not been so rude I might have listened.

Looking at the Range Rover covered in green posted earlier on p248 I'd have to think despite the bush the 190 and Brabus E Class hadn't been outside for long. Perhaps said Eastern European chap is a fence for stolen cars that will find themselves in Albania when the heat is off, they like their Mercs out there. Horse place you say? All those horse boxes travelling around Europe for events, easy to slip a car in a box

That looks like it has 500E rear arches.
I wonder if it is genuine....
Next time I take the little-un horse riding I will take a closer look - assuming the friendly mechanic is not wandering around....... They all looked as if they had been there for a couple of years judging by the state of the tyres and interior.I wonder if it is genuine....

Good spot, but it looks like it's sitting pretty high.
It looks like the front end could be on a mound of earth, the rear just on maximum droop?Oh, and the 190 2.3 Cosworth was never available in white, so if it is a Cosworth, it is rather rare in that colour.

The tarmac underneath looks fairly clean so it might have just turned up. An Alvis like that is getting reasonably valuable so hopefully it's there for rebirth rather than to die Rollcage said:
Whats the story with the HPE? Been off the road for 16 years by the look of it.
Good luck with the Moggy!
We own two of the vehicles in the barn. The Lancia nor the Volvo are ours. The Lancia is in a shocking state, rust REALLY bad and that was the visible stuff You could put your hands THROUGH the doors.Good luck with the Moggy!
The other is this:

Fascinated by the DHSS spec - how does that differ from the standard spec?
A Basic (Non-Deluxe) 2 door saloon in Trafalgar Blue. Features special seats that have runners and the backs fold, not the entire seat. Fire extinguisher may or may not be present on the tunnel or passenger side footwell. Plain (i.e. not fluted) door cards. That's as much as I know and am planning to have it restored to full DHSS spec.I have an idea at the back of my mind that the Church of England had their own spec for Minors that is quite similar. I know about the MOD spec travellers.
We had a pickup just like yours on the farm when I was a kid - PPW 448F if memory serves. I know it doesn't exist anymore because my brothers used it as a field car when it failed its MOT until it literally broke in half and we dumped it in the farm rubbish pit(!)
Do let us know how you get on.

Genuine E500
Cooking W124
The 190 however is NOT a 2.3-16, just a regular one with a horrific colour coded white paint job (door handles, grill, wiper arm, the lot).
