I'd blanked the plate out of respect to the owner but it seems that Photobucket take a while to update their pictures. For what it's worth, I don't think it's real!!

A car like the Healey 3000 is so valuable in good condition that it would have to be a pile of rust you can sweep in to a dust pan before it would be considered too far gone to rescue.

Saw this poking out of a garage today, it's so rotten that the front wings have collapsed on themselves and the headlights now point towards the ground...

That is a terrible waste frown

Bet that's worth money in parts. 410 transferboxes are popular with modders, they've got a lower high range which can be used in a 'rock lobster' conversion to suit larger tyres.

Does anyone know what happened to all the motors at Blackborough House, near Exeter?

Unsurprisingly, there's an FB page!

https://www.facebook.com/NationalBangers/posts/496...

I hadn't heard about that place, it's probably only 30 odd miles from me.

Wow.

I've bought many a spare part from there - amazing number and variety of cars in the grounds.

I know someone stole a Packard limo from there 4 or 5 years ago

That Landy's probably not beyond saving! Bit of an odd one though, it looks like either a series IIa or III but with a reg. from '63... Either way it's tax exempt!

1. Rover. It's a 'Rover' - not a 'Landy' rolleyes

2. I'm sure you mean '83 (not '63) as the year letter is a prefix, not a suffix. Series III produced from 1971 to 1985 would tally with that VRN wink

3. 1983 plate suggests that it's NOT 'VED' exempt, so probably not a priority for restoration.

Really? - You might want to tell them here then that they need to change the name to 'Roverzone'!: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/

I have to say that over all the years I've been alive and around Land Rovers (mainly on farms), I've often heard them referred to as Landy's but never 'Rover'.

What he said ^^^

As a squaddy, you'd get beaten about the head with an 12" adjustable if you said "Landy".

I didn't realise it was a civvy thing though. I thought it was only the Crabs that called them 'Landies'

Strange that, I had a pongo say to me only last week that he'd have to come back with a Landy to pick up some bits....
