i believe the story on the white s2 rs turbo is that, the owner of the rs, died, and i think his parents dont want to let it go. Understandable. But could be kept in better condition if thats the case.

Yep, I posted that one a year or so back...I knocked on the door to ask if it was for sale/rescue and was told it is not and is awaiting attention.
Yep, i also posted it up on page 343.
Sad sight indeed. Pass it every day

Not taxed since November 1993!!!

So we can assume it's been 'rotting' for quite some time, possibly as long as 20 years. In fact, built in 1977 and in military service for ten years, it was only 'on the road' for 6 years after it's 'demob' in '87. It's now been off the road for more of it's life than it was roadworthy.

I'd really like one of those too. I had my first 'post test' drive in one of those at 56(MT) Trg Sqn, RE, at Church Crookham in 1991.

re-shell or parts for sure. I took an xr3i out of a barn and you could put your foot through the floor, I dread to think what a car in the open would be like.

One is a car (classic)? one isn't but there is a story. Can you ID the blue car? Sorry for the rubbish pic's.

So the story goes.
Spotted these two while driving through mid-Wales,just had to stop for a look, they were parked next to a derelict house. The pick-up was totally full of brambles,I could see the blue car behind but it was so overgrown that I could not tell what it was.Got chatting to a neighbour and they said the house and cars were owned by a couple who had a major fall out and could not bring themselves to even speak to each other to sell the house, cars etc and just left it all to go back to nature.
I could not leave without identifying the blue car so with the OK from the neighbour I jumped the wall and took a rubbish photo of a ..................?

First glance says the blue car is a TR7.

Damn. I just spent the last 20 minutes searching for a hit. I was in the wrong era. I thought it might be sixties.
Well spotted.

With an options box ticked too!

Lots of TR7s were supplied without a nearside door mirror back in those days.

Lovely things. I bet it needs a chassis & bulkhead replacement by now.

Saw this in a Norfolk scrapyard yesterday. No Certificate of Destruction issued and it's been parked out of the main yard area so may be for sale?

And on the subject of sad TVRs, here's one from 2011 that was still parked-up very recently:

Continuing the theme, I saw a blue one of these looking sorry for itself up against a row of lockup garages in Strood, Kent at the weekend. From Google Earth it looks like t was previously under a tarpaulin; whether that has been removed, or just blown away, who knows, but the car looks to be in an identical position. No idea how long though - are the Google Earth images dated anywhere?

When I look at the recently revised Streetview, it's written against a black background on the bottom right of the screen. It says "Image Capture" then gives a month and year.

In a reverse of the situation you describe, the one I photographed has now been covered with a blue tarp!

Used to have an Isis back in the 70's.

It wasn't as good as that one above even then. smile

A few British classics worth saving there. The white'ish car in the middle looks like a Riley Pathfinder which was uncommon back in the day so must be extremely rare now! I've always rather liked them.

Ah thanks - so "mine" has been there at least two years, image date June 2012. Left to die then, I'd say!
